WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Heartland Coffee began in 2000 when New Zealand based pair Mal and Tara started to roast coffee in their London flat out of clear passion they had for drinking coffee, this became a dream of one day owning their own coffee shop.

A few years later, in 2005 the couple decided to start roasting coffee for commercial use and the coffee roastery soon began supplying their produce to some of London’s best restaurants and cafes and the business grew rapid success.

In 2012 they up and moved to North Wales to breathe the fresh Llandudno air, this meant the roastery also moved to a new home in Llandudno which then provoked the start of the independent coffee scene in North Wales, of which is still growing. Since 2012 the company has grown from strength to strength but the pure passion for coffee is still the driving force behind Heartland Coffee.

Heartland Coffee pride themselves on only using high quality, sustainably sourced coffee beans, and believe strongly in paying fair prices to all the farmers. Through sourcing coffee from smaller farms this ensures farmers are guaranteed to sell their crops, building a trusting relationship between farmer and roastery.

Heartland Coffee are proud to use 100% compostable coffee bags and labels, and pride themselves on leaving a green footprint on the planet! Both trade and retail customers receive fully compostable packaging. This really fits in with our own environmentally conscious ethos.

The journey the Heartland Coffee team have endured to produce such a high-quality product is what makes it so unique. Such as, travelling around the world to experience how the beans are roasted first-hand - that’s how far your local coffee roaster goes to ensure the best!

As well as being a successful coffee provider, Heartland Coffee is proud to hold the title of Great Taste Award winner 2021 for a number of their coffee blends, most of which you can purchase directly from us in-store and soon, online.
